Mary joined Zenda, a start-up human-centered design and consulting firm, as a Founding Partner and Chief Operating Officer in 2019, post her retirement after a 30+ year career as a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley.

Her cross-disciplinary career at Morgan Stanley included roles at the enterprise and divisional level of the organization, serving most recently as the Global Head of New Products as part of the Firm Strategy and Execution Division. She also served in several key leadership roles: Global Head of New Products; Chief Administrative Officer with direct operational and financial accountability for the Real Estate and Merchant Banking Division; Morgan Stanley’s Compliance Officer for Sarbanes-Oxley; Head of Operational Risk for the Finance division; and Head of Internal Audit for centralized corporate support functions. Mary has also served as a primary contact for regulators and helped the organization navigate new legislation and operating standards throughout her tenure.

A recognized change agent known for her strong bias towards action and ability to tackle business complexities, Mary successfully organized and led distributed work teams across disciplines and business lines to remediate operational deficiencies, build new infrastructure and capabilities, enhance internal controls and evolve the financial reporting landscape. During the first half of her career at Morgan Stanley, Mary progressed through the ranks within the Controller’s division, advancing to Controller of the Investment Banking and Global Wealth Management divisions.

Mary currently serves on boards of The New York Women’s Foundation, Village Care of NY and Wagner College.
