Joanne Pace Portrait

Joanne Pace is a global Fortune 100 financial services executive with more than 30 years of operating experience in complex financial and investment portfolio businesses. She most recently served as Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of Morgan Stanley Investment Management and is currently a strategic advisor to start up and early stage financial companies. She frequently speaks to industry associations about her experiences from the 1998 and 2008 financial crises. Joanne is an active independent board director with public and private companies as well as non-profit organizations dedicated to children’s health, education and welfare.

Joanne has held multiple senior executive management positions throughout her career. Prior to being named the Chief Operating Officer of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, she was Chief Operating Officer and Partner at FrontPoint Partners, a multi-strategy hedge fund. At Credit Suisse, Joanne led that firm’s human capital initiatives as its Global Head of Human Resources and as a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Earlier in her career, Joanne was Morgan Stanley’s Controller and Principal Accounting Officer, a role she assumed after serving as the Chief Financial Officer of the Oversight Committee for the financial industry’s bailout of Long Term Capital Management.

Joanne currently serves on the Board of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, the Board of the Oppenheimer Funds and The Alberleen Group Advisory Board. Additionally, she serves on Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital Advisory Board, Peace First New York Advisory Board and The Komera Project Board.

Joanne has an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant.
