Susan Sobbott currently serves as board member to WEX (NYSE: WEX), a leading financial technology service provider and global leader in payments solutions, operating in Fleet, Travel and Corporate payments, and Health and Employee Benefit Solutions.  She is also a board member of Lola.com, a travel and expense management SaaS provider for SMEs, a General Catalyst portfolio company.  Previously Susan was board member of The Children’s Place (NASDAQ: PLCE), a vertically integrated specialty apparel retailer and Red Ventures, a digital marketing powerhouse, a portfolio company of both General Atlantic and Silverlake.

She currently is a board member of IDEAS42, a behavioral economics thinkt1nk, providing practical solutions that address a range of social issues from sustainability to hunger relief, and is an advisor to One Love, a nonprofit focused on educating our youth on the development of healthy relationships.  Previously Susan also served as a Trustee for Darden School of Business, at the University of Virginia and was on the Board of The New Jersey Performing Arts Center.

Susan is a limited partner of Lead Edge Capital, Victress Capital and the Women’s Venture Capital Fund where she also serves on the advisory board, an avid supporter of women entrepreneurs and business leaders.  She is also advisor to several mission driven start-ups serving small and large businesses, as well as consumers.  As a faculty member of Conscious Business Leadership Academy, Susan is devoted to encouraging conscious capitalism leadership principles among CEOs.

Susan previously served as President of Global Commercial Services, a division of American Express, where she led the $10 billion division dedicated to serving the payments and cash flow needs of small and midsized businesses, as well as large and global corporations.  An officer of the firm, Susan was global chair of the Women’s interest network, and held various executive positions at American Express, over a twenty-eight-year career leading both consumer and B2B businesses.  A purpose driven leader, as President and General Manager of OPEN Small Business, Susan spearheaded the successful creation of “Small Business Saturday,” establishing American Express as a leader in customer centric growth, and social media marketing.  She subsequently led Global Corporate Payments and then merged all of the B2B
issuing businesses of American Express globally into Global Commercial Services where she developed the business strategy and organizational design, assembled the team and drove digital transformation, resulting in reduced costs, customer centric products and experience, a modernized go to market sales and marketing approach in the B2B space, and higher growth and customer promotership.
