Subha Barry Portrait

Subha Barry was most recently Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer at Freddie Mac.  She reported to the CEO and served on the firm’s management committee.  Subha was responsible for Diversity & Inclusion, Supplier Diversity, Community Engagement and the Freddie Mac Foundation. Her team launched the Executive Diversity Council to engage leaders across the company and create business relevance for the effort.  Under her leadership, the firm created customized Divisional diversity plans, launched an Autism Internship, built a Women’s Cohort and structured the Employee Networks to align with organizational priorities.

Previously, Subha was at Merrill Lynch for twenty years, the first 16 as a highly successful Financial Advisor, Branch Manager, Head of Multicultural Business Development and the last 5 as a Managing Director and Global Chief Diversity Officer.

Subha is active in giving back to her community serving on the Boards of the National Council for Research on Women (NCRW), Rice University and Princeton Hospital.  She is the Board Chair of the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Subha mentors women in her community and across her industry.

Subha has won a number of awards including the Women’s Fund of New Jersey Award for Outstanding Achievement in Banking and Finance, the New York City’s Academy of Woman Achievers, the Val Skinner Foundation’s Life Hero Award, Rice University’s MBA Alumni Service Award, National Organization of Women’s Women of Power and Influence Award and NCRW’s Diversity Champion Award.

She is married and has two children; she lives in Princeton New Jersey.
